  • Phius Certified Rater Training

    Virtual Event

Phius Certified Raters focus on single-family residential projects. The Phius Certified Rater training builds on the foundation and concepts delivered in RESNET HERS Rater training and prepares rating professionals to identify the key components of passive building and understand best practices for testing and inspecting performance in the field. This training is delivered live, online over three days and provides grounding in passive building principles as well as a guide to onsite quality assurance for the Phius Certification program. Each session is three hours. Approximately 8 hours of self-guided material is provided before the first session for review.

  • Phius Certified Consultant (CPHC) Training

    Virtual Event

This training is intended for Architects and Engineers. CPHCs learn to design to the Phius Certification climate-specific building standard. Projects earning Phius certifications (Phius CORE, Phius ZERO and Phius REVIVE) follow RESNET QA/QC protocols and achieve excellent HERS scores, US Department of Energy Zero Energy Ready Home status, and adhere to EPA indoor airPLUS requirements.

  • Phius Certified Builder (CPHB) Training

    Virtual Event

The Phius Certified Builder Certification is for tradespeople and construction professionals with field experience in construction and/or high performance building. This training prepares construction professionals to understand passive building techniques — airtight enclosures, high-performance window installation, passive design strategies, field quality assurance, and site management. For a project pursuing Phius Certification, these professionals ensure the building is built and operating to the plans and specifications. They are responsible for executing air-sealing and thermal bridge mitigation.

  • WUFI Passive Single Family Training (Phius)

    Virtual Event

WUFI Passive is a powerful tool that can enhance, streamline, and optimize the design and certification of passive building projects if integrated into the design process properly. This course is both for those learning WUFI Passive for the first time and those who learned WUFI Passive during the Phius Certified Consultant (CPHC) training but have not had a chance to apply the tool yet. Students will model a single family home from start to finish, learn the typical modeling workflow, and complete an individual design exercise with instructor guidance and critique.

  • Stretch & Specialized Code Basics

    Virtual Event

This course covers the different pathways available for code compliance, requirements for each section (envelope, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical), and an overview of how the different components work together. Participants will also learn how the Fossil Fuel Free Pilot communities program may use the Stretch Code as a tool to help meet building performance and electrification goals. This course is intended for all building industry professionals, including but not limited to architects, engineers, consultants, modelers, developers, owners, and contractors.

  • Building Science: Principles to Practice (3 Part Course)

    Virtual Event

In this two-part training, we'll explore the fundamentals of how heat, air, and moisture relate to the building enclosure and how those loads shape durability, efficiency, and comfort. Participants will develop the ability to identify enclosure performance drivers and challenges and learn to build from the lens of the local climate, code requirements, and construction realities of New England. Participants will also leave with an understanding of how design choices affect comfort, durability, and efficiency long after occupancy, allowing them to implement these principles into their projects.
