Carbon & Energy Roundtable

March 3 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
Carbon & Energy Roundtable

Join the BE+ Carbon and Energy Roundtable, a venue for architects, designers, construction managers, and sustainability professionals to discuss issues related to carbon and energy in buildings.

Topic: Post-Occupancy Performance – Energy Optimization

Buildings that are optimally designed to meet today’s best energy efficiency and decarbonization practices, are built in accordance with design, and are fully commissioned should operate at modeled energy and carbon levels, correct? Not necessarily; we’re seeing evidence this may not be the case. Mass Save Sponsors and some project teams are finding that new buildings may not always operate at the EUIs (and carbon intensities) that project teams expect and that energy models predict. Panelists will discuss why this is happening, why it’s important to measure energy use after building occupancy on an ongoing basis, and how to get buildings operating at the energy and carbon levels they are designed to achieve.

Subject Matter Experts:

Neetu Siddarth | Sustainability Director at BXP

David Venturoso | Vice President at Interval Data Systems

Brad Jones | Principal at Davenergy Solutions

Nick Gayeski | Co-CEO at Clockworks Analytics

Moderator: Ellen Richer | Supervisor, Energy Efficiency at Eversource
