About the Training
As the industry prepares for the next evolution of LEED, our LEED v5 Webinar Series offers a practical, insider look at what’s changing – and what it means for your work. This multi-part virtual series kicks off with Resilience + Human Health Impact. Explore how LEED v5 integrates climate resilience and occupant wellbeing through tools such as the RELi Resilience Rating System and Human Health Impact Assessments to help project teams design buildings that protect people and communities.

This webinar is eligible for 1.5 AIA LU / HSW continuing education credits.

This is a live, online training led by Sarah Michelman and Carrie Havey with The Green Engineer and Adele Houghton with Biositu.

Sarah Michelman

Sarah Michelman, RA, LEED AP BD+C, WELL AP, Fitwel Ambassador, Living Futures Accredited (LFA) is a Principal and Sustainability Consultant at The Green Engineer and has been with the company since 2010. She is passionate about collaborating with clients to assist in mitigating the environmental impact of their projects and and meeting Green Building regulatory requirements , through coordinating sustainability workshops and working integratively with project teams throughout all project phases. She works with the understanding that early engagement with project teams allows the benefits of energy efficiency healthy green buildings are beneficial for the occupants and the communities in which they are located. Sarah’s extensive background in architecture, supports her ability to interface with diverse integrated project teams and allows her to bring her knowledge of sustainable design and construction practices into the conversation.

Carrie Havey

Carrie Havey, LEED Fellow, has been with The Green Engineer since 2010. Carrie’s expertise resides in facilitating workshops and collaborating with project teams to provide sustainable design advice and LEED guidance at every stage of a project. She is skilled in overseeing projects that need to meet sustainable design regulatory requirements, such as MSBA or Article 37 in Boston. She has experience on a wide range of project types, including higher education facilities, k-12 schools, labs, multi-family residential, municipal buildings, and commercial interiors.

Adele Houghton

Adele Houghton, FAIA, DrPH, LEED AP, is President of Biositu, LLC where she works at the intersection of buildings, public health, and climate change. She is a member of the American Institute of Architects College of Fellows and received a Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) degree from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, where she also teaches. Her book Architectural Epidemiology (Johns Hopkins University Press, 2025), co-authored with Professor Carlos Castillo-Salgado of Johns Hopkins University, proposes a novel method for architectural design: combining neighborhood-scale environmental health data with participatory community engagement to maximize a building’s positive ripple effect on community and planetary health.

Funding Grants Available: Submit by May 28th, 2026

The Express Grant is designed to help businesses respond quickly to emerging needs and keep employees engaged. With bite-size grants for just-in-time training and no waiting periods between grants, the Express program is the Workforce Training Fund’s fastest path to funding.

Express Grant Eligibility

Employers with 100 or fewer Massachusetts, W-2 employees are eligible to receive Express Program grants. Express Program grant applications must be submitted no fewer than 21 days before the training date. The following documentation is required to apply:

Signed Form W-9
Certificate of Good Standing (COGS) from the Massachusetts Department of Revenue, dated within 6 months from the date of application submission
Certificate of Compliance from the Massachusetts Department of Unemployment Assistance (DUA) that is not expired on the date of application submission

The contracting period of approved Express Grants begins 21 days after the grant application date and ends one year from this date. All training must be completed within the contract period to be eligible for reimbursement.

Cancelation & Rescheduling Policy

Full refunds are available only if written notice is provided 7 days prior to course start date. There will be no refund if less than one week’s notice is given. 

Please note: Full refunds will be issued less the standard processing fee. In general, rescheduling is always preferred over refunds. Registration transfers are only allowed for rescheduling to a future training and cannot be transferred between individuals.
