2020 Zero Energy for Commercial Buildings Conference

In Eversource’s continued commitment to helping build the next generation of commercial zero energy buildings, they’re excited to announce their 4th annual conference! Learn from the experts at NREL, AKF, The Stone House Group, and Acton-Boxborough Regional School District about how commercial zero energy buildings have been designed and constructed. Energy Efficiency Consultants from Eversource will also speak about technical and financial support available through energy efficiency programs to support zero energy buildings. This event will be held virtually.

ASHRAE has just released the next Advanced Energy Design Guide. This zero energy guide focuses on what is needed to achieve zero energy in office buildings. The session will focus on the EUI targets focusing on the selection and design of the HVAC systems. It will also cover lighting, plug loads, and envelope design as it applies to the HVAC system to ensure that the office building can be built to the zero energy target. How-to tips and practical advice will be presented as well as successful zero energy case studies.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Describe a process for creating a zero energy office building
  2. Apply a set of Energy Use Intensity targets to achieve a zero energy office building
  3. Provide an overview of the Advanced Energy Design guide for Zero Energy office buildings
  4. Describe the interactions between envelope, lighting, plug loads, and HVAC design and the integrated roles that architects and engineers should follow to achieve low-energy design.
