West Work is an emerging architecture office committed to advancing design excellence with low-carbon materials and net-zero construction across housing, higher-education, and civic projects. We are seeking a full-time Project Architect with 7+ years of professional experience who is passionate about enhancing the built environment through sustainable design and adaptive reuse.

Our team values design rigor, curiosity, collaboration, and technical innovation. A successful applicant will be responsible for design input, project coordination, and technical implementation. They can expect to be involved in all aspects of project delivery, from schematic design through construction administration. Applicants should have the ability and interest in working directly with clients and ultimately leading projects.

Position Overview
The Project Architect will be responsible for:

    • Establishing design direction and maintaining conceptual clarity throughout all phases
    • Technical implementation of design intent
    • Communicate clearly and confidently—both visually and verbally—with clients
    • Coordinate consultant teams and ensure quality control of documentation
    • Contributing to strategic growth initiatives within the firm
    • BIM modeling efforts, and drawing production in Revit
    • Review shop drawings, material samples, and construction documents for design conformance
    • Perform or oversee construction administration tasks (RFIs, submittals, change orders, site visits, etc.)

You will be involved in all aspects of project delivery—from feasibility studies through construction administration—with the opportunity to guide teams and mentor staff while advancing progressive, climate-responsive architecture.

Qualifications

    • Licensed Architect (or in process)
    • 5+ years of professional experience in an architectural practice
    • LEED AP or Passive House Consultant certification (preferred)
    • Demonstrated experience in housing, higher education, and/or civic projects
    • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team structure
    • Advanced proficiency in:
      • Revit
      • Rhino
      • AutoCAD
      • Adobe Creative Suite
      • Excel
      • Bluebeam
    • Strong understanding of:
      • Construction methods and detailing
      • Building codes and zoning principles
      • Building science and sustainable technologies
    • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
