Better Building Products: Intro to Declare + The Living Product Challenge

Designers aim to make informed decisions and put the best products into their buildings. Manufacturers aim to provide the products that best meet the designer’s needs at a competitive price. We are all in alignment, yet it remains a challenge to get the best products into our buildings –why?
The International Living Future Institute (ILFI) provides a conduit for transparent and holistic product data with its Declare Label and outlines a framework for a holistic manufacturing approach through the Living Product Challenge (LPC).
Join Built Environment + The Living Future Community for two introductory trainings by ILFI staff on The Declare Label and its uses for designers in tandem with an introduction to the LPC and what it takes for manufacturers to obtain a label, and beyond.
The two brief training sessions will be followed by a facilitated community dialogue, bringing forward the transparency perspective and barriers of both audiences.
Learning Objectives
Gain a deeper understanding of the Declare program, including key features of the updated label.
Be able to discuss how Declare benefits customers, manufacturers, and designers.
Identify key aspects of the Living Product Challenge Certification.
Have a deeper understanding of the benefits of LPC-certified products
