Since The Annual Earth Day Charles River Cleanup will now be held this autumn, celebrate Earth Day by joining the EMPA in a virtual cleanup! Grab a pair of gloves and a trash bag and cleanup some litter in your own neighborhood. We encourage you to participate in this cleanup in the safest possible way: maintain six feet from others, wear appropriate protective equipment such as a mask, and only pick up trash in areas where you feel safe and comfortable. If you don’t currently have the proper protective gear, simply document the trash with pictures and come back when you’re prepared to remove it.
Even though you might not be right on the Charles River, everyone’s neighborhood is part of a watershed! Check out the maps below to figure out which watershed you are benefiting and tell us in your social media post.
We are on LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. Tag us and include the hashtags #trashtag and #EPMAcleanup. After you post, search the hashtags to connect with others who are cleaning up as part of the same community!
The virtual event will be held all weekend, April 25th & 26th
