Stretch & Specialized Code Basics
Virtual EventThis course covers the 225 CMR 23.00 MA Commercial Stretch and Opt-in Specialized energy codes applicable from July 1, 2023 and including February 2025 updates. The presentation encompasses the different pathways available for code compliance, requirements for each section (envelope, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical), and an overview of how the different components work together. Participants will also learn how the Fossil Fuel Free Pilot communities program may use the Stretch Code as a tool to help meet building performance and electrification goals. This course is intended for all building industry professionals, including but not limited to architects, engineers, consultants, modelers, developers, owners, and contractors.

TEDI Modeling
Virtual EventThe training will review the method and best practices of conducting a Thermal Energy Demand Intensity (TEDI) model as required for compliance with the Stretch Energy Code. Case studies and lessons learned from permitted buildings will be used to demonstrate model results and balance adjustments to design through the design process to reach a final compliant model.

Intro to Healthy Materials
Virtual EventIn this workshop, participants will learn key product sustainability metrics and how to identify products and materials that are better for the environment and building occupants. The workshop will highlight the trends and the tools available to find and select healthier products, including: Health Product Declarations (HPDs), Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs), transparency, Declare labels, Cradle to Cradle certification, low-emitting materials, and low-embodied-carbon materials.
