Local Government Leadership Summit

This summit will explore how Massachusetts and national programs support local government sustainability and resilience leadership. Learn why hundreds of local governments have embraced the LEED for Cities rating system to assess and improve their jurisdiction-wide sustainability and resilience programs, and why Massachusetts ranks number one in U.S. LEED certifications. Strategize with state and national program leaders on how we strengthen our collective efforts. Hear about the range of products, programs and tools for local governments at USGBC.
This convening will benefit local government staff, including city and county planners, sustainability and resilience teams, building and facility managers, city/county managers, board and commission members, and elected officials; regional government agency staff; local NGOs that work with cities and counties; consultants that engage with local governments in the region; students and emerging professionals; USGBC members; and all others interested in supporting vibrant, resilient, and healthy communities.
Learning objectives:
• Participants will understand how the sustainability and resilience offerings by Massachusetts-based programs and USGBC strengthen communities.
• Participants will receive an overview of the LEED for Existing Cities v4.1 framework.
• Participants will strategize with state and national program leaders on how we strengthen our collective efforts.
• Participants will know how to best utilize the expertise and resources of USGBC to advance their resilience and sustainability goals.
