Grow your Leadership Skills in the Sustainability Field

Note: This course is a 2 part series, both dates are included in the price.
Part 1: March 25th from 9 AM to 12 PM
Part 2: April 1st from 9 AM to 12 PM
Do you run meetings? Manage a team? Want to be promoted to a position where you manage people? Are you passionate about something and want to get other people on-board? You can do all of these things more successfully if you develop your personal leadership skills.
In this course, participants develop a heightened self-awareness of their particular leadership style, an understanding of where they can strengthen their skills and the ability to adapt their style to different situations. If you are working with a team, whether in-house management, or as part of a large project client/consultant team you need these skills. Many sustainability champions have strong technical backgrounds but very little training in communication, negotiation and leadership skills that would enable them to drive alignment and effectiveness in their teams or firms. This workshop helps employees at all levels develop strong skills to define objectives, get people moving together toward common goals, empower those around them, deal with conflicts, and contribute toward a positive team culture.
Meet the Lecturer: Barbra Batshalom
With a background in social psychology, architecture, and 20+ years of sustainability consulting, Barbra brings a unique perspective engaging the human dynamics of decision-making and creative collaboration to technical work. She helps companies all over the world to institutionalize sustainability and improve performance and profitability. She has worked with local governments and institutions to create policies and programs that require green building and net-zero communities and led the development of the industry’s first (and only) certification program that evaluates the capability of design/construction firms to deliver consistent, high-quality sustainability services. She also teaches Sustainable Real Estate Development at Brandeis University’s International Business School.
