Energy Code for Owners and Contractors: Lessons from the Field

Virtual Event

Join us for an engaging panel discussion exploring how the new energy code is being implemented across Institutional (including K–12), Large Commercial, and Multifamily building types. Representatives from Turner and Consigli Construction will compare project typologies, sharing real-world challenges, lessons learned, and what’s on the horizon. Topics will include pre-construction and cost considerations (a key concern for owners), execution of design intent on projects that have built in the new code, quality control strategies like mockups, and the role of design teams in accurate pricing.

Building Science: Principles to Practice (3 Part Course)

Virtual Event

In this two-part training, we'll explore the fundamentals of how heat, air, and moisture relate to the building enclosure and how those loads shape durability, efficiency, and comfort. Participants will develop the ability to identify enclosure performance drivers and challenges and learn to build from the lens of the local climate, code requirements, and construction realities of New England. Participants will also leave with an understanding of how design choices affect comfort, durability, and efficiency long after occupancy, allowing them to implement these principles into their projects.

Stretch & Specialized Code Basics

Virtual Event

This course covers the different pathways available for code compliance, requirements for each section (envelope, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical), and an overview of how the different components work together. Participants will also learn how the Fossil Fuel Free Pilot communities program may use the Stretch Code as a tool to help meet building performance and electrification goals. This course is intended for all building industry professionals, including but not limited to architects, engineers, consultants, modelers, developers, owners, and contractors.
