The Green Building Showcase contains our Project Gallery, which contains 150+ community submitted project boards. The gallery contains both General Submissions, and our Awards Competition Submissions. You choose the content on your board: whether it be partial or completed projects, innovative products, designs, and programs.

All award competition boards must be submitted by Oct 20th. You can enter a general submission up to a few hours before the event starts. Curious about board requirements? You can learn more here.
Project Gallery Details
General Submission | $100 per board
Showboards (mounted posters) are a great way to convey the awesomeness of your projects to the community. By submitting a board, your project will be displayed at the venue, making it a great conversation starter or way to share information about your project.
Award Series
Market Leader Award Series | $250 per board
Does your project have an edge to it? With our Market Leadership Award Series, you can submit your project to be considered for an award in the following categories.
- Health and Wellness
- Site
- Energy and Water Efficiency
- Resilience
- Innovation
One winner will be decided within each category, and winners will be announced in front of all attendees and receive exclusive PR support after the event in the form of a combined blog and social media post.
Green Building of the Year Award | $250 per board
Must be a completed building, built within the last 5 years, and designed or built by a Massachusetts company.
Do you have a project that stands out? You know it’s the best of the best, so give it the attention it deserves by entering in our Green Building of the Year Contest. This award is designed to highlight the most impressive green building design and execution of our green building community. The winner of this selective competition will be announced in front of all attendees and receive exclusive PR support after the event in the form of a blog and social media post.
Basic Rules
- Poster boards cannot be advertisements.
- ALL submissions must be entered by Oct 20th at 11:59 PM.
- USGBC MA reserves the right to reject a board if it does not follow our specifications. Submission fee will not be returned if board is rejected.
Showboard Content Requirements
- Entries will be presented on a single 24” x 36” board. We prefer recycled material.
- Boards must be in portrait orientation.
- Content may be in text, diagrams, photos or other graphic format.
- Must include the following:

- Name and location of the project/product
- The basic green/sustainability features
- Project team
- Other recognition(s) earned
- Information on LEED, WELL, Passive House, LBC, etc

Green Building of the Year Award Rules
- Must be a completed building.
- Must be built within the last 5 years.
- Must be designed or built by a Massachusetts company.
- Cannot re-submit a submission that won in any of the last years Green Building Showcases.
- Submissions may also be submitted to the Market Leader Award Series, but a new application with a corresponding fee will need to be completed.
- Submission MUST be entered before Oct 20th at 11:59 PM.
- A PDF of the submission MUST be uploaded to https://goo.gl/forms/CNYNPx0fPOgQJD7H2 before Oct 20th at 11:59 PM.
Green Building of the Year Award judging criteria
- The innovativeness of the entry – does it break new ground? (IN)
- The significance of the entry’s positive impact on the environment, social equity and the economy. How much good does it do? (Env/SE/E)
- Replicability. Is the entry something that can be used as a model for others?(Rep)

- You may only apply to one category per submission. (Health and Wellness, Site, Energy and Water Efficiency, Resilience, Innovation)
- You choose the content on your board: whether it be partial or completed projects, innovative products, designs, and programs.
- Submissions can also be submitted to the Green Building of the Year, however, a new application and corresponding fee will need to be completed.
- A non-completed project can be submitted.
- Submission MUST be entered before Oct 20th at 11:59 PM.
- A PDF of the submission MUST be uploaded to https://goo.gl/forms/CNYNPx0fPOgQJD7H2 before Oct 20th at 11:59 PM.
Market Leader Award Series Judging Criteria

Deadlines
The deadline for entries is October 20th, 2018 at 11:59 PM. The physical boards, registered before the 20th will need to be hand delivered to the event on the day of (October 25th) between 4 PM and 5:30 PM.
No award or award submissions will be accepted after October 20th, 2018 at 11:59 PM (email communications@usgbcma.org for exceptions or questions).
Boards submitted to the Market Leader Award Series, or Green Building of the year MUST be submitted in PDF format online by October 20th, 2018 at 11:59 PM to https://goo.gl/forms/CNYNPx0fPOgQJD7H2. Failure to do so will result in disqualification without refund.
Board Drop-off and Pick-up
- Display boards should be brought to the Showcase 30 minutes prior to the event to ensure enough time for set up.
- Display boards can be taken or left at the event, where they will be disposed of.
