Are you in an architecture or engineering program and identify as a student of color?
The Massachusetts Clean Energy Center (MassCEC) is a state economic development agency dedicated to accelerating the growth of the clean energy sector across the Commonwealth to spur job creation, deliver statewide environmental benefits and to secure long-term economic growth for the people of Massachusetts.
MassCEC’s Targeted Internship Program is seeking diversity in architecture, engineering, or environmental program candidates who would like paid internships at sustainability-focused architecture and engineering firms in Massachusetts. MassCEC can provide your resume to firms that are qualified employers in the MassCEC clean energy internship program, as well as hourly payment to help support a paid internship. The program also provides career enrichment and networking opportunities for students of color that participate.
If you are an interested architecture, engineering, or environmental student of color, please note:
- Intern placement with qualified employers will be facilitated by Built Environment Plus. Chosen students will be required to attend two professional workshops throughout their time as an intern.
- Available positions vary depending on the needs of approved employers. There will be a range of job descriptions and required skills, spanning the green building and clean energy industries.
- Students must have primary residency in MA, attend a MA university/college or be within one year post-graduation.

Dates:
The summer 2023 internship period runs from May 15-August 31, 2023, funded by MassCEC for up to 480 hours (typically 40 hours/week for 12 weeks).
Salary:
Hourly pay ranges between $15 and $18 an hour (on average).
