This course is for multifamily WUFI Passive users that want to take their modeling to the next level – learning pro tips to ensure the full capabilities of the software are utilized – and concepts and skills learned can be applied to other building types. Discuss details specific to modeling a multifamily geometry including takeoff dimensions\, grouping windows\, multiple zones\, attached zones and modeling isolated building zones. \n4. Learn how to model various multifamily scale mechanical systems including setting up centralized\, semi-centralized and decentralized ventilation systems\, working with the DHW calculator and accounting for various renewable energy options. \n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Technology Requirements\n				WUFI Passive requires Windows OS. If you use a Mac\, you must have a working copy of Windows installed. Mac users need to purchase and install VMWare Fusion\, Bootcamp\, or Parallels\, along with a Windows operating system. VMWare Fusion is recommended. \nPhius will provide a free educational license for WUFI Passive. Participants will need their own copy of Sketchup for the training. \n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Prerequisite\n				Previous introduction to and use of WUFI Passive modeling software is required. It can also be used to analyze risk of condensation or mold growth on an interior surface at a thermally bridged condition. \nThis 10-hour live\, virtual course will provide students with the tools needed to assess for moisture risk at tricky details in both the opaque enclosure and for fenestration. Registrants will have access to the self-guided training materials for 12 months from the time of registration through Phius. Registrants should complete the self-guided materials before attending their instructor-led sessions. \nOnline ExamRegistrants will be enrolled in the Online Exam when they register for training\, which is 1 of the 2 required exams for CPHC® certification. The online exam can be taken at a time of your choosing\, but must be completed within the 12 month window\, and must be completed in one sitting. The Online Exam focuses on the knowledge and content presented in the self-guided lessons\, and Phius recommends (but does not require) completing the Online Exam before starting instructor-led sessions. Additional information about the exam can be found on the Phius training site. \nInstructor-led Training:The second phase of the training focuses on design exercises applying passive building principles that are completed as a class and in small groups\, as well as WUFI Passive software training. Registrants will receive a WUFI Passive license approximately 2 weeks before their instructor-led sessions begin\, and will have an additional 2 hours of self-guided software training to complete before the instructor-led sessions. The instructor-led sessions consist of 24 hours of instructor-led training sessions across 2 weeks followed by a design exam. \nDesign Exam:Registrants will be enrolled in the Design Exam that opens at the end of their instructor-led sessions. With bite-size grants for just-in-time training and no waiting periods between grants\, the Express program is the Workforce Training Fund’s fastest path to funding.You could take this training for FREE. Express Program grant applications must be submitted no fewer than 21 days before the training date. The following documentation is required to apply: \nSigned Form W-9Certificate of Good Standing (COGS) from the Massachusetts Department of Revenue\, dated within 6 months from the date of application submissionCertificate of Compliance from the Massachusetts Department of Unemployment Assistance (DUA) that is not expired on the date of application submission \nThe contracting period of approved Express Grants begins 21 days after the grant application date and ends one year from this date. In general\, rescheduling is always preferred over refunds.
