SUMMARY:A Walk in the Woods
DESCRIPTION:Join the Living Future Community to tour the Wellesley College award-winning Global Flora Conservatory and walk through their Edible Food Forest and other landscape oriented infrastructure. \nWe will focus on how our built environment can (or can’t) enhance the ecosystems we are embedded in. We will have some special guests who can push us to think in ever wider ways about how we live in our world and care for all of life. \n\nMeet for the Walk in the Woods at the entrance to the Wellesley Botanic Garden. We will start our walk (and talk) at 10 am from there. \n \nFree\, all day visitor parking is available at the Davis parking garage on campus. This is the preferred visitor parking area\, and there are many spots available inside the garage. There is no time limit on these parking spots. If the parking gate is lowered at any time\, use the buzzer at the gate to connect to Campus Safety; let them know you are visiting the Botanic Gardens\, and they will let you in. Plan for a scenic ~10 min walk from the garage to WCBG Visitor Center. \n\n\nThere are also some limited parking spots near the Botanic Garden entrance.\n\n\nIf you arrive by Commuter Rail\, Enter the College Gate at the four-way intersection of Central St. and Weston\, and follow the wide asphalt path (Fiske path) bordering the Botanic Gardens along your right – you’ll see some trees with labels on them and a sign for “Fiske Path entrance” down into the Arboretum. You can begin exploring the Arboretum here. We will meet at the WCBG Botanic Garden Entrance. \nView the map
