SUMMARY:Living Future Roundtable
DESCRIPTION:Topic: Meeting the Moment in Community (Part 3)\nJoin the virtual BE+ Living Future Roundtable\, a venue for architects\, designers\, construction managers\, and sustainability professionals to discuss topics and issues related to International Living Future Institute (ILFI) programs. \nRelationships are the foundation of our work\, shaping not only how value is created\, but what we choose to value. No business\, technology\, or practice exists in isolation; each is held within a web of relationships that ultimately determines its impact. \nThis roundtable invites participants into a guided\, participatory conversation exploring our roles as individuals\, organizations\, and an industry within these interconnected systems. We will explore three real-world examples: natural building practices (individual)\, a collaboration among multiple panelization fabricators (organizational)\, and the development of a cross-industry bio-based materials network (industry). From this framing\, we will trace how relationships evolve across scales and influence the systems we are actively shaping. \nTogether\, we will explore what it means to cultivate “right relationship” with ourselves\, each other\, our tools and technologies\, and the broader social and ecological systems in which we operate. In doing so\, we will surface pathways to expand our collective impact while maintaining the integrity and coherence needed to reimagine the built environment. \nJacob Deva Racusin is Co-Founder and Director of Building Science and Sustainability with New Frameworks\, Vermont-based worker-owned cooperative. As a consultant\, designer\, and educator\, Jacob merges his passions for ecological stewardship\, relationship to place\, and social justice. Jacob is Senior Research and Innovation Advisor with Builders For Climate Action. Jacob has authored two books and numerous articles\, and instructs and consults on topics of building science and climate impact. An active member of the Carbon Leadership Forum Boston Hub and founding member of the Bio-Based Materials Collective\, Jacob is engaged in code and policy development\, professional training\, and other initiatives supporting the transition to a more just industry. \nReach out to livingfuture@builtenvironmentplus.org with any inquiries\, questions\, or concerns. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Register here\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Roundtables are FREE for Built Environment Plus Members. \nNew to the Roundtables? SUMMARY:Just Celebrate - Recognizing AEC Social Equity
DESCRIPTION:Join us for the 2026 Just Celebration—an evening dedicated to honoring organizations that are advancing transparency\, equity\, diversity\, and justice across our industry. The BE+ Living Future Community in partnership with Living Future invites you to recognize and uplift the organizations in our network that are demonstrating meaningful commitments to equity\, transparency\, and justice—both within their workplaces and throughout their projects. \nWhether your organization has already earned a Just label\, is exploring the program for the first time\, or is curious about how Just can support LEED or LBC projects\, this gathering is designed for participants at every level of familiarity. Professionals across disciplines and career stages are encouraged to join. \nTogether\, we’ll celebrate leadership\, exchange knowledge\, and build momentum toward more equitable and transparent practices across the built environment. Expect thoughtful conversations\, opportunities to learn from peers\, and—of course—a chance to celebrate the progress we’re making as a community. \nWhat is Just? The Just program is a voluntary transparency platform created by the International Living Future Institute. Unlike a certification\, Just is a disclosure tool that allows organizations to publicly share information about their operations—including how they support their employees and where they invest financially and within their communities. Learn more about the Just program and how organizations are using transparency to drive positive change. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Featured Speakers\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n DiAnn Tufts\, Senior Associate & Director of Sustainability at PCA (she/her/hers) strives to create high-performing structures with an emphasis on healthy\, habitable\, and scale-appropriate spaces that contribute to the character of place and build community.
