SUMMARY:WUFI Passive Single Family Training (Phius)
DESCRIPTION:Two 4-Hour Sessions on February 6th and 7th from 12:00 – 4:00pm\nOne 2-Hour Session on February 11th from 12:00 – 2:00pm\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n About the Class\nWUFI Passive is a powerful tool that can enhance\, streamline\, and optimize the design and certification of passive building projects if integrated into the design process properly. This course is both for those learning WUFI Passive for the first time and those who learned WUFI Passive during the Phius Certified Consultant (CPHC) training but have not had a chance to apply the tool yet. Students will model a single family home from start to finish\, learn the typical modeling workflow\, and complete an individual design exercise with instructor guidance and critique. \nThe registration deadline for this training is January 16th. BE+ recommends registering at least 2 months in advance as seats in this course may fill quickly. \nExpress Grant Eligibility\nEmployers with 100 or fewer Massachusetts employees are eligible to receive Express Program grants. In order to be eligible for Express Program grant reimbursement\, an Express Program grant application must be submitted no fewer than 21 days before the live-session start date\, and you must register for the course through BE+\, not Phius. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n About Phius\n Phius (Passive House Institute US) trains and certifies professionals\, maintains the Phius climate-specific passive building standard\, certifies and quality assures passive buildings\, certifies high-performance building products and conducts research to advance high-performance building. \n \n \n \n \n \n Learning Objectives\n 1. Understand how to input data into WUFI Passive in its static mode to model a building from start to finish. \n2. Learn to produce outputs and whole building modeling results necessary for Phius certification compliance. \n3. Identify the fundamental modeling workflow for Phius project certification. \n4. Interpret modeling results in WUFI Passive static mode. \n5. Apply the skills learned to an individual design excercise. \n \n \n \n \n \n Technology Requirements\n WUFI Passive requires Windows OS. If you use a Mac\, you must have a working copy of Windows installed. Mac users need to purchase and install VMWare Fusion\, Bootcamp\, or Parallels\, along with a Windows operating system. VMWare Fusion is recommended. \n \n \n \n \n \n Funding Grants Available: Submit by January 16th\, 2025\n The Express Grant is designed to help businesses respond quickly to emerging needs and keep employees engaged. With bite-size grants for just-in-time training and no waiting periods between grants\, the Express program is the Workforce Training Fund’s fastest path to funding. \nYou could take this training at 50% cost or for FREE. Complete an Express Grant Application. \nCourse ID#: C-9666\nCourse Provider: Built Environment Plus\nCourse Cost: $450 \nExpress Grant Eligibility \nEmployers with 50 or fewer Massachusetts\, W-2 employees are eligible to receive 100% reimbursement of approved training costs via Express Grants. Employers with 51 to 100 MA\, W-2 employees are eligible to receive 50% reimbursement of approved training costs via Express Grants. \nExpress Program grant applications must be submitted no fewer than 21 days before the training date. \nThe contracting period of approved Express Grants begins 21 days after the grant application date and ends one year from this date. All training must be completed within the contract period to be eligible for reimbursement.

SUMMARY:High-Performance Building for Carpenters
DESCRIPTION:Four 5-Hour Sessions from February 6th to February 27th\, 1:00-6:00pm\nAbout the Training \nThis in-person training teaches carpenters how to apply fundamental building skills to high-performance construction projects.
