SUMMARY:Energy Codes and Trends
DESCRIPTION:This course will cover many rapidly evolving elements of sustainable design with particular attention to energy codes and trends applicable in Massachusetts. Topics will include the new Stretch Energy Code\, local regulatory requirements such as BERDO and Zero Carbon Zoning\, and trends in Net Zero design. \nThis course is taught by Michelle Fennell\, BR+A and Ari Greenberg\, BR+A. \n\n \n \n \n \n \n Learning Objectives\n 1. Identify major changes to the latest version of the energy code as their impacts on architectural\, mechanical\, plumbing\, and electrical systems. \n2. Compare energy codes across the country for both new buildings and renovations. \n3. Summarize building energy trends\, both those found in codes and those pushing the envelope on sustainable design. \n4. Predict how the energy code changes and new energy efficiency strategies will impact a new project not yet designed. \n \n \n \n \n \n Funding Grants Available: Submit by November 7th\, 2023\n The express grant is designed to help businesses of all sizes respond quickly to emerging needs and keep employees engaged. With bite-size grants for just-in-time training and no waiting periods between grants\, the Express program is the Workforce Training Fund’s fastest path to funding. \nYou could take this training for FREE.
